A memorable 2 days at the November Kota Kinabalu IE!

The most international group of candidates we may have ever had (everyone is from a different country!) successfully completed the 2-day Kota Kinabalu Instructor Examination (IE) at our premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya Island!

Leading the Go PRO team is resident Platinum PADI Course Director Richard Swann, who offered his total commitment to their professional dive training during the IDC and full support throughout their IE.

Congratulations all round to our Go PRO internship candidates who all finished the performance requirements of their PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), they even had a few days of practice before the IE too! Their mentors were the Go PRO team who supported them all the way throughout; and leading the Go PRO team is resident Platinum PADI Course Director Richard Swann, who offered his total commitment to their professional dive training during the IDC and full support throughout their IE. Support is a counseling technique that is so crucial for our Go PRO interns to reach their professional goals.

Several of our IDC Go PRO interns are staying for another month to further their Go PRO dive training with PADI Specialty Instructor courses and enhance their career!

Gaya Island setting for our adventurers’ to learn about conservation!

Another adventure group of international school students visit our premier PADI 5 Star Dive Centre on Gaya Island!

The group of 50-strong marine enthusiasts explores the warm waters of the South China Sea through our snorkel safari island activity! The students are always under the supervision of our PADI professionals who will guide them on each session of snorkelling at the different snorkelling sites too!

Our island staff team gathered the excitable bunch on the beach in front of our beach house to collect any marine debris!

The practical contribution to marine conservation offers a lasting impression for our young adventurers’ to gain appreciation about the positive impact their selfless volunteering has on our natural environment!

The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is incredible fun for both our Go PRO interns and Go PRO team, and even more so when the dive conditions on the surface and underwater are so great!

Not one day on the IDC has been hindered by weather conditions at all, and all participating and tanning very nicely under the Borneo sun during confined water training in front of our premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya Island!

Our dedicated team of Go PRO PADI Instructor Trainers supports the candidates at every stage of their professional development!

Richard Swann, resident Platinum PADI Course Director, is assisted by his Go PRO team and IDC Staff Instructor candidates to evaluate our candidates’ performance to ensure they are qualified to enrol on the next Kota Kinabalu PADI Instructor Examination. Our IDC interns must achieve passing scores in confined water and open water dive training, a rescue scenario, as well as multiple-choice exams on dive theory and PADI standards. Our dedicated team of Go PRO PADI Instructor Trainers supports the candidates at every stage of their professional development!

Master Instructor Paul refreshes his EFRI teaching skills!

Our November Instructor Development Course (IDC) candidates qualify as Emergency First Response Instructors (EFRI), which is a requirement for our professional interns to be PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors (OWSI)!

Effectively teaching a variety of basic first aid skills, such bandaging, splinting, serious bleeding management, chest compressions, using an automated external defibrillator, and more!

Paul Jones, our General Operations Manager and Dive Equipment Specialist, conducts the 2-day course at the multimedia classroom facilities in our Kota Kinabalu Times Square Headquarters. Presentations of the EFRI outlines clearly how to organize and teach all skills of CPR, first aid, and primary and secondary care. The course involves effectively teaching a variety of basic first aid skills, such bandaging, splinting, serious bleeding management, chest compressions, using an automated external defibrillator, and more!

Go PRO internship candidates of our IDC will become more confident with each EFR course they teach in their future career! This course is very popular because it isn’t a requirement to be a diver, or even have any previous experience, so the range of audience is – everyone! Our November IDC begins with an orientation!

For the group of 7 candidates enrolled on our November Instructor Development Course (IDC), resident Platinum PADI Course Director Richard Swann conducts the orientation at our HQ’s multimedia classroom facilities!

Up until the day before the PADI Instructor Examination (IE), our candidates will need to fulfil the performance requirements to pass the IDC. Our Go PRO team of PADI Instructor Trainers will provide the counselling necessary for our Go PRO interns to prepare for the IE on the 18th and 19th of November!

The atmosphere of the IDC is buzzing with all the different candidates!

Richard and the Go PRO team will be assisted and observed by our IDC Staff Instructor interns who are continuing their professional dive education to share their own instructional experiences for the benefit of the future generation of dive educators! The atmosphere of the IDC is buzzing with all the different candidates, and our Go PRO team are confident the positivity will keep our interns spirits positive to successfully achieve their shared goal to become PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors!
