Witness conservation in action at Turtle Island!

The Fleming children were speechless when they got to witness conservation in action at Turtle Island!

A visit to Selingan Island can be combined with other tours offered by our Sabah Travel Centre, such as the Gomantong Caves and Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Sanctuary, which is all included in our 3D2N Turtle Island and Wildlife program.

Young family of 4, the Flemings, were really fortunate to have been present at the island when a sea turtle was laying her eggs on the beach. They also learnt about the conservation work practised, as they watched the park rangers collect the hatchlings and place them in the turtle hatchery for incubation.

A Salt Trail of Sabah history!

Sabah history can be found along the Salt Trail of the Crocker Range!

Once used as a route by traders to easily access town markets with their fresh produce – and why was salt most popular? Simply to preserve such foods as fish and meats.

The Salt Trail is rife with challenge to test the limits of any thrill-seeker, and it won’t disappoint those looking for a unique Borneo experience of its famous rainforest environment!

Our Downbelow Travel Centre 4D3N Salt Trails Jungle Trek package includes all fees for the park permit, conservation and accommodation, as well as return transfers to and from the Salt Trails starting and ending points. It’s a real expedition-style itinerary, as trekkers will be given use of: a lunch box, utensils, camping mat and mosquito nets. Overnight stays are pre-arranged between our travel experts and Sabah Park guides to ensure village homestays are expecting guests to cook traditional food for their meals, as well as provide traditional entertainment!

Contact Downbelow Sabah Travel Centre for more information on jungle trekking expeditions for a unique Borneo adventure!
