There are many attractions in the vast area of Kinabalu National Park, and one of the most popular to visit is the Poring Hot Springs area!
Poring Hot Springs is the name given to a large area of the park that is home to not only the hot springs, in fact in our opinion the springs are not the highlight. Located about 40km from Kinabalu National Park HQ in the surrounding lowlands where humidity is slightly higher than that of the rest of the park, visitors can appreciate its divers flora including rare and endemic species making it an interesting place to stay in Sabah, Borneo. Furthermore, there are a variety of activities that guests can enjoy. There are two waterfalls, one a short 350m from the areas HQ standing 10M high. The other a challenging 3.5KM hike which stands 100m high and is the highest waterfall in Sabah. There is also a fascinating canopy walk-way through the tree tops at 40M. A butterfly garden and if you venture slightly away from the tourist hub you can find the original hot spring which is a popular resting place for a variety of birds.
Poring Hot Springs accommodation offers a variety of options to suit all types of travellers ranging from premium, luxurious private chalets to comfortable rooms and dormitories. The chalets and are equipped with excellent amenities and are locally crafted with rustic furniture.
