Project Description

A Two Day Course To Learn to Scuba Dive!

The PADI Scuba Diver program is a two day pre-entry level certification that is perfect for vacationers or people who only plan to dive a few times a year. As a subprogram of the PADI Open Water Diver program, the PADI Scuba Diver rating allows you to get certified quickly and easily by minimizing time constraints.

Our PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre on Gaya Island within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park – TARP in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah provides an ideal venue for the PADI Scuba Diver Course. With both confined shallow, sandy areas right in front of our PADI 5 Star Dive & Adventure Centre which are ideal for skill practice. For the open water dives, we are perfectly located to access all the best dive sites within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park – so less time traveling – more time spent underwater!

Scuba Diving Kota Kinabalu

What will I need to start?

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Scuba Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Scuba Diver program available. We pride ourselves on small group instruction ensuring our clients get the very best of attention from the instructor. Safety is paramount, we adhere to PADI standards and procedures and follow British HSE guidelines. With the PADI Scuba Diver certification you can dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor or higher professional on your next vacation or dive trip to a maximum of 12m.

Program Outline

How long will it take?

PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you, we allocate 2 days for this course.

Where can I go from here?

After completing the Scuba Diver program you can, at anytime continue your diving education. The next step is usually to complete the PADI Open Water Course with any PADI dive centre, which will take an additional 2 days.

 What will I do?

Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving. You will learn how about dive equipment and diving techniques. By completing three confined water dives, three knowledge development sessions and by making two open water dives, you will earn the rating of PADI Scuba Diver.

Junior PADI Open Water Course

The junior scuba diver course involves exactly the same training. The child is certified to dive with a certified adult to a maximum depth of 12 meters until the age of 15 years when the certification can be upgraded at no extra cost.

It doesn’t get any better than Downbelow!
They planned our entire 2 week stay in Borneo, we didn’t have to lift a finger. We saw everything you can imagine; Pygmy Elephants, Orang Utans, Proboscis Monkeys, Crocodiles, Horn bills! They know all the best local spots and really take care of you which is so important when traveling somewhere new!

Excellent Customer Service
My wife and I used Downbelow for three trips whilst in KK over CNY. From the initial email enquiring about a hike up Mount Kinabalu up until the end of our holiday, the service we received has been outstanding.
