Manukan Island Stay & PADI Open Water Course

Our Manukan island stay & PADI open water Course includes the PADI Open Water Course which is not only our most popular scuba diving course but the most popular scuba course in the world. It’s the first level of PADI Certification and as a certified PADI Open Water Diver you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional to a maximum depth of 18 meters.  If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, we offer a PADI Junior Open Water Diver course.

Manukan Resort Pool

Our PADI 5 STAR CDC Centre is located at the pool area of Manukan Island Resort next to the beach.  Staying at the resort means no daily transfers out to the island, you wake up and spend the day learning to scuba dive in paradise. For those that want to stay longer and enjoy some fun dives after course certification talk to our travel consultants about extending your holiday package.

During the day time Manukan island can be busy with day-trippers. However we limit the number of people at the dive centre and maintain a maximum 4:1 ratio of divers to PADI Instructor.  Evening and night times are quiet, with only the one resort located on the island, guests enjoy peaceful sunsets, cocktails beach walks.

Facilities Include:
•  Open Air Buffet & A’La Carte Restaurant
•  PADI 5 Star CDC Dive Centre
•  Volleyball and Badminton Courts
•  Jetski, Banana Boats, Parasailing
•  WiFi Internet
•  Swimming pool

Dining is fairly casual with a “sand between the toes” kind of feel, perfect for us divers. If you want to enjoy some exclusive luxury we offer fabulous  sunset cruises for special occasions.  We can also arrange special honeymoon packages and private beach dinners.

Dive Sites on Your Doorstep

Manukan island dive resort in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park offers the ideal environment to stay & learn to scuba dive Borneo. Dive sites within the park offer some great scuba diving for beginners and experienced divers alike. Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park is also great for underwater photographers, providing lots of macro subjects in relatively shallow calm water.

The coral reefs feature lots of very healthy hard and soft coral. Our scuba diving guests are often very surprised to see such healthy corals so close to a city. We have 49 dive sites to choose from & our divemasters will choose the best dive sites depending on the sea & weather conditions, plus individual diver ability on the day. Important Information

Due to weather conditions, activities may be subject to re-scheduling to best meet operations, as well as clients health and safety.

Don't forget your SUN-CREAM. We are in the tropics where the sun is very strong and although you will be underwater the sun rays penetrate.

After scuba diving, current PADI Flying After Diving guidelines state that you should not go to altitude (this includes flying and climbing) within 18 hours when completing multiple scuba dives. This means that the day after your diving program you can take a flight after 0930 hrs in the morning. Or you can choose to not take part in the afternoon dive and therefore take a flight after 0600 hrs in the morning the following day. Please note that since all our programs last a full day there will be no refund offered for missed dives since you have the option to stay on the island or enjoy snorkelling and trekking activities.

Liability Forms

Clients will be asked to complete the PADI standard liability forms at the mainland departure jetty and dive centre. Parent or guardian must sign for participants under 18 years of age.
